Today we headed back to Lima. The drive to Juliaca was pretty uneventful but getting to the airport itself was bewildering. Apparently, the airport was built outside the city but the city grew and surrounded the airport. And nobody thought to make any main roads to the airport. Instead, we wandered around and around until we eventually got to the airport.
It was a relatively small airport and took very little time to get checked in and through security. The flight took us over some beautiful mountains.
And we had some nice views of the waterfront when we flew into Lima.
Once in Lima we stayed at the Wyndam hotel right at the airport. We are only staying overnight. Very convenient hotel.
